Contrasted and the computerized satellites, MP3 players, and Palm Pilots of the 1990s, the innovation today has really propelled, making numerous individuals become subject to media-related gadgets. In excess of 50% of todayââ¬â¢s youth add to this reliance. What isn't paid attention to enough is that this excitement for innovation is pulverizing the brains of little youngsters by diverting them from significant family esteems, causing different tormenting issues, presenting them to savagery, and instigating numerous wellbeing dangers. Innovation in this way should stop to exist in the lives of kids, who ought to rather take in significant life exercises from playing outside, using abilities, or investing energy with the family. It is significant for a kid to invest quality energy with their family. Guardians, grandparents, kin, or more distant family individuals assist kids with creating positive confidence by conveying esteems, support, and love. Today, childrenââ¬â¢s feeling of those connections is adjusted because of the way that they are turning out to be less and less inspired by family and rather increasingly more fascinated with media. The normal child ages eight to eighteen spends more than seven and a half hours daily utilizing innovation, rising to seventy-five hours every week (Negative Effects Of). With the entirety of that consideration going to innovation, kids build up lost family intrigue. A gathering of four to multi year olds said they would prefer to sit in front of the TV than invest quality energy with their dads (Negative Effects Of). Story time with mother is quickly being supplanted with an old scene of Spongebob, in this way making detached kids that don't discover the worth they ought to inside their families. Consistently a kid is staring at the TV or tinkering with an iPad is a subsequent that ought to have been spent figuring out how to ride a bicycle, painting an image, or perusing with their folks to better the bond in the family relationship. While youngsters are getting less intrigued by their families, they are likewise increasing a misguided feeling of security and driving themselves int o a risky heading with respect to what they uncover on the web. The young people of today don't understand that once something is posted on the web, it is there for eternity. One million kids were bugged, undermined, or exposed to different types of cyberbullying on Facebook during the previous year (Cyberbullying Statistics). Numerous children post humiliating photographs, statuses, or spill things on to the web that they later lament, making them become a subject of provocation by others on the web or in school. There is a solid connection among tormenting and self destruction, with menace casualties being two to multiple times bound to consider self destruction than non-casualties (Bullying and Suicide). At five, in excess of 50% of children consistently cooperate with a PC or tablet gadget (Clinton and Steyer). Since guardians are not observing children or implementing certain principles in the family unit, for example, thinking of limits concerning the measure of time spent on the PC, numerous youngsters die hours gazing at a screen which can make them an obvious objective for the individuals who menace through the web. In addition to the fact that people are uninformed of potential outcomes presented by the internettelevision is another primary worry that postures dangers for little youngsters, who have naive personalities. The age of small children should be known as the ââ¬Å"couch potatoâ⬠age, as they are going through as long as six hours daily sitting in front of the TV, with their folks utilizing TV as a ââ¬Å"electronic babysitterâ⬠(Harris). Many accept that childrenââ¬â¢s programs show glad, beautiful pictures that impact the childââ¬â¢s mind decidedly. In any case, what goes obscure is the way that those ââ¬Å"happyâ⬠and ââ¬Å"colorfulâ⬠programs really normal in excess of fourteen rough acts for every houreight more than grown-up programs (TV Mediaââ¬â¢s Influence). Guardians would clearly be dismayed at this number because of the way that by age eighteen, their kid will have seen around 200,000 demonstrations of viciousness, including eighteen thousand killings (TV Mediaââ¬â¢s Influence). Rather than exposing youngsters to the TV that engraves their brains with savagery, guardians ought to rather invest quality energy teaching, playing, or perusing with them. By doing this, the sickening information on wrongdoing and savagery won't be clear in a youthful childââ¬â¢s life. They will get an opportunity to stay unpolluted, their brains loaded with significant famil y esteems versus murder and bloodbath. Presentation to TV and media too soon in a childââ¬â¢s life prompts medical issues. By age three, 33% of youngsters have TVs in their rooms. This puts them in danger for postponed rest beginning, expanded caloric admission, and bad dreams from overstimulation (Stein). The over the top early introduction to electronic media connects with language delay, consideration issues, and shortfalls in official capacity. What numerous individuals don't understand is that placing a kid before a screen isn't harmlessit incredibly influences the manner in which they change into adulthood. On those issues, kids who continually sit before a TV or game gadget have a danger of getting hefty. Television viewing adds to this by expanding stationary conduct, encouraging undesirable eating designs, expanding eating, and meddling with ordinary rest (Stein). Kids ought to be outside playing with others, perusing, and nodding off at typical hours without a TV in the room so as to forestall the wellbeing dangers that have tormented numerous on account of abuse of electronic media. In spite of the fact that innovation is useful from numerous points of view, it is unfavorable to kids when uncovered consistently. Sitting a youngster down before the TV, giving them a game comfort, and permitting long stretches of PC time enormously influences the way that kid thinks, feels, and responds to specific circumstances. Innovation not just places a gouge in a childââ¬â¢s enthusiastic state with respect to fierce shows and ads, yet it influences their wellbeing also, making them endure extraordinary difficulties, for example, bad dreams, expanded caloric admission, and consideration issue. Despite the fact that the world is turning out to be all the more mechanically propelled that doesn't mean youngsters need to also. They ought to play outside, perusing, and investing energy with the family so as to learn significant qualities that they would not gain from utilizing gadgets.

The food retail industry is chiefly constrained by huge general store chains that have the mind dominant part of the industrys piece of the overall industry, as it will be investigated further in the report. Concerning the size enhancement of the retail locations, the dominant part are enormous units like hypermarkets, markets and discounters with a level of 62% of the all out number of stores. Besides, little units as accommodation stores and service stations speak to the 21.2% and food and drink masters the 11.3%. The minority are medicate stores, distribution centers and money and convey stores (Datamonitor 2009). 3. Irritation investigation Macro-condition To examine the full scale condition or in any case known remote condition of the food retail industry, a PEST examination will be utilized to determine how Political and legitimate, Economical, Social and Technological issues influence the business. 3.1 Political There are numerous political and lawful variables that influence the food retail industry. Future political choices concerning tax assessment or the retail business enactment will have an effect in the business contenders approaches and methodologies. The present enactment and guideline concern rivalry, business, ecological, food and staple security, money related administrations and medical problems. In particular, the UK food retailers are obliged to follow food cleanliness enactment set by the Food Standards Agency and the equal European Union guideline, for example, the General Food Law Regulation. In the UK the sanitation demonstration of 1990 was ordered to set the sanitation necessities for food expected for human utilization. The Food Standards Agency was made in 2000 after the food norms demonstration of 1999, which was ordered to additionally make sure about the general wellbeing identified with sanitation (Office of Public Sector Information, 1999). The UK food retailers are obliged to follow the above guidelines related to the General Food Regulations 2004 that set the principles about the transportation, conveyance, quality, cleanliness, support, publicizing and selling of food and its substances. Particularly for the food cleanliness and upkeep the guidelines and prerequisites of the Food Hygiene Regulations of 2006 and the globally perceived Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) must be adhered to (Food Standards Agency, 2010). Along these lines, conceivable defiance of the above guidelines by the markets will cause lawful issues and the implementation of fines, hurting their financial plan and social picture. The opposition in the UK is watched and constrained by two government bodies, the Competition Commission and the Office of Fair Trading. The two government bodies guarantee that the organizations in the UK follow the opposition law and practices. In this manner, they watch and interface the market to dodge syndication, oligopoly and cartel wonders. Their job outside the ability to control of rivalry between the contenders inside the business is to guarantee the reasonable exchange between the stores and their provisions. As indicated by late press distributions the reasonable exchange is presently the most significant issue (Haurant S., 2009). In 2001 the Office of Fair Trading established the Supermarkets Code of Practice to direct and guarantee the exchange among markets and providers, who incorporate among others, ranchers and reproducers (Office of Fair Trading, 2001). Moreover, the significant market chains had been frequently charged for anticompetitive, uncalled for practices and inability to meet the vital prerequisites. Consequently the Competition Commission intended to change the current Supermarkets Code of Practice to another Grocery Supply Code of Practice (Haurant S., 2009). The new code of training added serious strain to the Grocery retailers since they had to follow stricter guideline and to take care of the expenses of the perception body. This new guideline prompted more prominent rivalry which endured the activities of the general stores however marked down marginally the costs to profit the purchasers. Another significant gathering of guidelines are those concerning the arranging and natural law. The basic food item retail organizations need to follow the arranging law to have the option to grow their exercises in new places. During the previous years, the basic food item retailers would in general grow their stores in places from town focuses. The explanation was essential the discounted property costs and the capacity to build huge market units, augmenting their benefits. Anyway this pattern incited a progression of issues, for example, the expanded contamination from the buyers transportation driving the legislature to change the enactment, requesting the nearness of town focus stores from the outset. In this manner, the response of the market binds was to build the quantity of moderate size and little stores who agreed to enactment and expanded the general stores purposes of essence (Tescopoly; Butler S., 2006). Moreover, the staple retail partnerships need to consent to ecological law and guidelines concerning merchandise transportation contamination, style, appropriate removal and reusing. There is a noteworthy level of the workforce that is utilized in the food retail industry. In this way, the food retail organizations are obliged to conform to the UK and EU business enactment precisely as the remainder of the businesses. Work law, for example, the Employment Rights Act 1996 and the Employment Act 2002 indicate the laborers rights including compensation, working conditions, work hours and employer stability Also, during the previous thirty years, a progression of hostile to separation laws were ordered to build up correspondence and decent variety in the workforce (Businesspme.com, 2008; direct.gov.uk, 2010). Likewise, the food retail partnerships are obliged to conform to wellbeing and security measures in the working environment in tasks like the utilization of hardware, electrical gear, transportation of merchandise, viciousness and so on (Shropshire, 2010). These guidelines are chiefly set by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Workplace guidelines of 1992. In this way, any political choice prompting increasingly complex work enactment can expand the work costs in the business and diminish the productivity. Moreover, rebelliousness with the work guidelines can prompt long haul suits with previous or representatives or the legislature. During the most recent years the enormous general store fastens extended their exercises to offer budgetary types of assistance, for example, charge cards, advances and stores. Hence the general stores are obliged to agree to the enactment and guidelines established by the Financial Services Authority (Financial Services Authority, 2010). Accordingly, a potential change in money related administrations tax collection or guideline will influence their benefit. Moreover, the grocery stores are obliged to pay the proportionate corporate duty at the HM Revenue and Customs. 3.2 Economical The monetary components, occurrences and circumstances that influence the food retail industry can be moved in the accompanying classifications: Consumer spending and extra cash, expansion, tax collection, loan costs, joblessness, money related issues, and the ongoing budgetary emergency. The ongoing budgetary emergency has unquestionably gotten numerous significant changes the food retail division just as to most of the enterprises. In any case, the impact of the money related emergency didn't influence adversely the customer request. On the opposite the buyer spending in the food retail industry expanded from 2007 to 2008 particularly in the food items and keeps on expanding at an around pace of 5% (National Statistics; Mintel report, 2009). The fundamental ramifications for this pattern was that due to the downturn, the buyers cut their eating out costs and began to expend food at home as it is a lot less expensive. Moreover the deals of natural food, specific items, for example, TV and sound frameworks and costly items declined (Mintel report, 2009).On the opposite, the deals of own image items and hard discounters chains expanded demonstrating the buyers turn in ease p

Leadership theme in Othello Free Essays
William Shakespeare is one of the most profound writers that ever existed; his books have touched almost all aspects of life. I was drawn by Othello because of the natural skill and brilliance the author used. How Shakespeare builds character of the protagonists and antagonists is out of this world; the sequence of scenes and vocabulary in use is also unparalleled. We will write a custom essay sample on Leadership theme in Othello or any similar topic only for you Order Now Not only in Othello but also in his other plays. Love and romance is one of the themes that his plays revolved on; we can say he used it as device to attract more readers and viewers, but if we look at it as a non marketing tool we can also say that he centered in it to confuse the authorities of England that were ruthless when it came to dealing with anti government policies, e.g colonialism. I solely deployed the review method of research as it would give me the filtered thoughts of professionals on the matter. That said, neo-classic literature critics have come to a truce that Othello is a play that lays bare the qualities of a true leader and how the leadership can influence the political and economic sector. These traits can be laid bare if one deciphers the underlying message in the characters actions and words. All characters have different traits so I paid keen attention to the protagonist and antagonist; Othello and Lago. Their smooth distinction and how ones opinions and suggestions could affect the other lays bare the desirable and undesirable traits in leadership. The main purpose of this review is to try and show Shakespeareââ¬â¢s honorable audience that there is more to his plays than just love themes. Leadership theme in OthelloI will have to begin this introduction by a praise to the play master himself; William Shakespeare. At the beginning of the play the writer portrays Othello as a very indecisive man and still hard lined to his shortcomings. Later on, the character takes a paradigm shift and he is able to be adored by the audience. This is made possible by his selfless actions capped with eloquent enticing skills. Lago who is the villain is seemingly attached to the main character, staying true to his malicious cause; he leads to the memorable demise of Othello. How this two interact should be an eye opener for leaders to be cautious and very selective of the company they keep and how that company influences his thoughts and delivery when in and out of duty. At the onset of the play we might have a likable feeling towards Lago but when detailing on the triggers of his actions we will see that he was created to clearly show shortcomings of any leader and what happens to them if they pushed to the breaking point by wrong influences. Lagoââ¬â¢s treacherous act were driven by human desires; he wanted Cassioââ¬â¢s post as a lieutenant and that was his reason for spreading the rumor to his boss that his wife was having a secret affair with his enemy. We must also marvel at how Lago drew the equation and fixed Brabantio in it as he knew how much he detested the affair Othello had with Desdemona. The obvious notion that Lago had was that Othello would kill his competition. In contrast of notions and deeds, we see that Othello had positive thoughts and his dear friend and he even defended when need arose. Their relation only proves how any person can be vulnerable to deceit and self destruction. It is sad that Othello let Lago control his thoughts and deeds. The sequence of the scenes and how Othello behaves in different surroundings also profiles him as a very noble person. The scenes shift between being tense, romantic and spiteful, despite this we realize that protagonist behaves benevolently in most of them until the point he felt that he could take it no more; thanks to Lago. When cruising through the scenes, we realize that Lago has somewhat become the central character as when he is not there, his shadow is seen in how Othello behaves. The level of contact and communication between these two characters even surpasses how the protagonist relates to his own wife; Desdemona. The underlying message here is that the theme of leadership is the one that is on emphasis. The post Othello holds in the society and his racial background also gives the dynamics how leadership selection and election should be. The cases presented to the senate show a leader should behave and how cases should be handled. I think the last scenes were scripted to intentionally lean on the romantic theme so that the audience attention doesnââ¬â¢t waver or as had said before; so that the authorities couldnââ¬â¢t smell malice in the writing. Materials and methodsThe materials used were the play; OTHELLO written by William Shakespeare and the online articles that supported the analysis that leadership theme was central in the play in question. To get a clear view of the topic I had to keenly analyze the scenes in the play, notice the mood how the protagonist and antagonist behaved in them. I also used psychology scholarly articles to justify if the characters actions came out naturally or if there was a modicum of restraint and moderation despite the outward triggers to behave wildly. I gave an economic touch to this research by stating if the traits portrayed were beneficial or detrimental if possessed by leaders in organizations. Results obtainedThere was mixture of both bad and good qualities when Othello was the man in question. Among the good traits he possessed that made an astounding leader and likable characters were;Taking responsibility, he proved this when Lago came to warn him about the vengeful search that Brabantio had launched on him. Brabantio had an obvious dislike for Othello as he thought that he had used charm and voodoo to woe Desdemona, we can say that Brabantio used this claim on our protagonist as he was not from a white descent. Despite the warning and imminent threat of destruction that the latter faced, he stood firm to his ground as swore not to flee; a matter which he fulfilled (pluckrose-2017). He was ready to face the consequences if need be because he believed that what he did was true. He showed respect to his foes and elders whenever he was addressing them, such a scenario were when he was presented to the senate to answer a case where Brabantio had accused him of charming his daughter. He praised the senators by referring to them as his very noble and approved masters. The word masters is emphasized cause it meant that despite his post, he still acknowledged that he fell under the laws of the land.He was a peace maker; this was evident when an infuriated Brabantio approached him with his swordsmen. Instead of reacting in panic, fear or anger, he diffused the tension with a joke and proved he was a peace maker. It is evident that he had skills in war and he would have opted to use them in that moment if he was a selfish and ruthless leader. He opted not to because he knew there are civilized ways of solving matters. His composed and eloquent character made him stand out in all the scenes, the writer made it appear like he was the most learned person in the whole play. He maintains his composure When being presented at the senate for heinous claims and still achieves a rhyme when speaking, he says signorâ⬠¦masters..daughterâ⬠¦and her in one sentence. We see some senators showing admiration to the protagonist.Jealousy and gullibility are some of the negative traits that Othello exhibits. He lets Lagoââ¬â¢s words get into his and hood his judgment. He tends to lay so much trust in the antagonist that he doesnââ¬â¢t bother verifying the authenticity of the words; a matter that culminated to his tragic demise. The jealous he feels for the rumored relationship between his wife and Cassio prove him emotionally weak, also a matter that leads to the tragic end of the play.He thought Self depreciation warranted him to depreciate Cassioââ¬â¢s abilities. He acknowledged his own weaknesses and assumed that his love opponent that was a much lesser man than him. This is a very worrying trait for a business leader to posses as it doesnââ¬â¢t lead to solving of a problem. He was overconfident in his doings and words. He used outrageous words to demean Cassio and filled his head with ideas that Cassio was lesser man hence could not compete with him in any way. It is by this assumptions that he starting plotting to kill his wife and her purported lover. He was emotionally weak. This trait was not evident at the beginning when he stayed to meet eye to eye with Brabantio but when he let Lago get into his head he lost his entire cool and behaved like an uncivilized moron by ending his own life. Discussion and conclusionFrom the above results we notice that all men can be vulnerable to bad influence, if only Othello had kept Lago a little bit far from him they he would have maintained his reputation as a perfect leader. The positive traits that have elaborated can help the managers in decision making and situation handling in the corporate world (stein-2005). A leader must learn to be responsible and accountable for his own actions when he feels that what he did was right. Even if he is wrong, he must judge himself harshly as failure leads to experience. From Othelloââ¬â¢s descent we learn that race does not determine ones traits, Othello was not a pure white man but he proved to be wiser and more composed than Lago. With inference from the original text and the examples I used, we reach a conclusion that leadership is truly the main theme in the play and that love is only used as style to attract the audience and capture its attention. Philosophy of Health Education free essay sample
All the strategies, activities, and services offered by, in, or in association with schools that are designed to promote students physical, emotional, and social development make up a schools health program by the American School Health Association. This is just one of the many definitions of health and health education there is to be found. To understand my philosophy of health education, you may first need to know what I think health means to me. I like to believe that health is an ongoing process that is very individualistic and is coupled with wellness that everyone is constantly changing. I think this is because in certain points in your life certain aspects of wellness play a bigger role in your life than others. For example if a person is struggling spiritually or emotionally this does not make them an unhealthy person, this simply means that they are not as balanced as they could be in the aspect of all the other wellness areas. We will write a custom essay sample on Philosophy of Health Education or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page But just because they are lacking in those two areas, there can be other aspects of wellness such as social or mental that may be compensating for their suffering in the other areas. I think that perfect balance of all seven aspects of wellness is hard to achieve, and that as long as the person feels that they are able to function in society without disruption of one of the aspects of wellness affecting them they can be defined as a healthy person. Based on this definition, my philosophy on health education is based around people making the right decisions and carrying out these decisions to help maintain or improve their current state of health and wellness they are at. First off I think that when educating students, educators should focus on getting students to critically think about situations and how it can affect their actions and vice versa. I think in doing this I can teach my students that what ever situation is in life, at some point they should be pleased with their decisions and actions, which will help build their self-esteem, which in turn can make the students at a higher level of wellness which in turn will create a more healthy person. When the students decisions and behaviors are modified, then it in turn can help modify the health and wellness of their group of friends, the classes they are in, which in turn can create change in the school, community, and can go on and on. I feel that in providing the students with the knowledge to make right decisions and reasons to support why they are the right decisions based on what the school policy or community believes can help them because sometimes students have an idea of what is the right decision to make but do not know how to carry this out and do not know how to defend their stance. While this will obviously not work on every student it will hopefully help more students to make the ââ¬Å"right decisionsâ⬠. A current example of this would be to not text and drive. A student can make the decision in their head or even on paper to not text and drive but then their friends may pressure them into answering a text, so as an educator you can provide them with reasons why this is a good choice and how they can carry out this decision and not give into peer pressure. After giving the students the basic facts and a few examples of how to stand up for their beliefs you should also give the students a chance to practice this because we all know some things are easier said than done. Also you do not want to only say this is bad this is good on topics you present, I feel like students will find teachers more credible if you address the other side of the situations you present them. So basically you can not just say do this not that, this is wrong this is right and be done, rather you should elaborate and let students have a say as well to advocate for both of the sides of a topic. Next I think that the focus on health education varies depending on what grade level you are teaching and what topic you are talking about. For the most part though I think that healthy behaviors should be addressed and reinforced, but also there are times when you should advocate for change. The only problem about advocating for change is the studentââ¬â¢s readiness to change. For example if the students do not think what they are doing is wrong they will likely ignore your lessons to them, but I think coupled with my previous philosophy, despite the studentââ¬â¢s readiness they will at least hear your message and hopefully think about it and eventually make a change in their behaviors. An example of this is if you are teaching middle school health education and you are talking about personal hygiene some students may not think that deodorant is necessary for them to use at this point in their lives, while others have been using it for a while. I think in presenting the reason for presenting this will help reinforce the positive behavior of students that are already using deodorant and bring light to this topic for those who arenââ¬â¢t and hopefully will help them change. In talking about this too the students can also help support each other with this change by making this topic less taboo and possibly opening it up for more comfort level in hygiene and cleanliness in the students, which can benefit the studentââ¬â¢s physical, social, and possibly emotional and mental aspects of wellness. Finally I think that success in health education can be defined by both the choices students make coupled with this though is how their choices affect the way they function in society. I feel that if I provide students with the materials to make the right choices and carry out the decisions in their behaviors as well as correcting behaviors that may not be the best but also reinforcing their ââ¬Å"correctâ⬠decision making and thinking then the health education is successful. I feel that as long as you present the students with all needed materials and try to address concerns the best you can and answer any questions they may have then the rest is up to them, and as long as you see some change in the studentââ¬â¢s behaviors and/or thoughts, or you see improvement of already established thoughts and behaviors then you have succeeded as a health educator. If not then something in your curriculum needs to be changed. While I know you can not change every student to be the ideal person, you can certainly give them everything you can to try to change it. Ultimately the decision is up to the students and how open they are to this change. Thus, health education must be looked at as a systematic process to help individual students along a path to improving their individual health and wellness to a higher level than they enter your class.
